Podlinez.com is an innovative service, which streamlines all of your favorite podcasts directly to your landline or cell phone without having to sync to your computer, that's right no syncing to computer or portable player necessary.
The award winning web service is free and quite simple. Users are able to immediately browse, view and instantly call phone numbers assigned to programs, from the extensive Podlinez directory without having to become a member or create a password. There are short, in call sponsor ads that play at the beginning of the call to monetize the service and help defray costs.

Podlinez launched about a year and a half ago and was just recently recognized as The 2008 Webby Award's People's Voice winner for "Mobile Marketplace & Services. As David-Michel Davies executive director of The Webby Award succinctly phrased, "Podlinez is a testament to the skill, ingenuity and vision of its creators."

I concur. After recently visiting the Podlinez website for the first time I was wowed by the concept. The site's layout is basic, straightforward and easy to navigate. After only a few minutes of browsing through the extensive directory I'd already chosen several podcasts to add to my cells speed dial. The idea of being able to squeeze in a Fox News update while waiting in line at the bank appealed to me. Why would one pass on the opportunity to learn a new language – one traffic jam at a time? (Always wanted to learn to speak French and in South Florida's traffic, I'll be fluent in no time.)

It wasn't until this morning that it dawned on me that I no longer had to be chained to my desk while carrying on with the drudgery that is my continuing education. By lunchtime I'd devised a formidable plan. (I'm not a morning person, hence the delay.) The plan is to be anyplace other than my office while I work through a plethora of podcast software tutorials. Thankfully, Podlinez makes it easy for publishers to add their podcasts and get their own phone numbers by simply pasting the xml into a text box on the front page and selecting submit if they are not available within the database.

Podlnez replenishes their site with the latest version of the podcasts they carry and have designated the * and the # buttons on your cell phone to allow you to skip forward or backward a minute in time while listening to your podcast. Podlinez allows you to maximize your time, customize your intake and make your mom proud because you're finally using your time wisely. Au revoir.
