The ability to overcome disappointments and
losses in life is only a matter of your mind, your being and it is a
learned habit that will promote yourself and your needs in life so that
you can look forward and to other things happening in your life that
are good and beneficial.
To help overcome problems in life and disappointments in life
read some of the following for ideas in to how to put your needs and
wants first in life.
Realizing that something is wrong, that you are feeing pain and that
you have a disappointment in life to overcome is the first step to
getting to where you want to be in life. Dealing with the loss or the
disappointment by facing it is going to make the entire process
something faster and easier to manage. Allow yourself to feel bad, but
for a limited time so you can then again look ahead and focus on more
in life.
Remember that there is no one thing in life that is going to make
survival a major issue in life. While you may feel it is a major
importance, and you may want it very badly, there are going to be other
methods of obtaining this same goal and to get what you want in life.
Perhaps if you didn’t get the promotion that you wanted with the bigger
raise, it is still going to be ok.
All you have to do is work harder to get that next promotion, or you
can look for another job, or you can put forth more effort into making
money another way in life. There is always another way to answer the
question, to solve the problem and to move on in life with what it was
you were aiming for.
Look for the positive side to things. Perhaps you
have lost a loved one who was in pain, remember they are not dealing
with the pain any longer. Perhaps you wrecked the car, but you would
like to buy a new one anyway. Perhaps you didn’t get that prize that
you really wanted, but there are still so many methods of getting that
prize! What ever your disappointment is you really need to sit back,
look at the negatives and the focus on the positives there are many
things about every situation that can be turned around and brought to a
new better light.
To avoid feeling to disappointed about any situation don’t let your
expectations get the best of you. For example, you really want this one
job. You have been interviewed twice, and you have a friend who works
there. Remember that nothing is ever guaranteed in life, and if you
don’t get the job you will have better interview experience for the
next try at it. There is always going to be someone who knows someone,
another applicant that is better qualified or someone who is willing to
work for less. Keep in mind that when you don’t get what you want, that
you can take your life experiences to another level and make more out
the situation.
I am a firm believer in that everything happens for a reason.
While it may take me two or three days, weeks or even months to figure
out why something happened, I don’t let it get me down too much. I just
keep on trying to pursue what I want and need and how I can get it.
If you are having problems getting over a major disappointment in
your life, look forward to the future, think about what you have
accomplished in life so far, and where you want your life to head to.
Write down the goals and objectives of how you are going to over come
this problem and then put your mind into working on it!
